Hawks bury Miners behind 3-point barrage

The Rockhurst women's basketball team connected on 14 three-pointers to gain separation from Missouri S&T in a 91-70 victory Saturday afternoon in Rolla, Missouri.

Ten of the Hawks' 14 3-pointers came in the first half as Rockhurst led 25-12 after one quarter and 54-32 at the half.

Madeline Ronshausen (27 points, five 3-pointers), Lauren Krissman (16 points, four 3-pointers) and Briahtia Sebek (15 points, three 3-pointers) led the long-range attack for Rockhurst. Ronshausen added eight rebounds and a game-high six assists. Krissman pulled in a game-high 10 rebounds and posted four steals.

Tracy Monahan scored 12 points and brought down seven rebounds. Kaci German added eight points, including four-of-four from the foul line.

The Hawks led wire-to-wire, jumping out to a 13-2 lead and never looking back. The Miners pulled within 12 late in the third quarter, but Rockhurst kept S&T at arm's length, converting 10-of-12 free throws in the fourth quarter.
