Rockhurst's season came to a disappointing finish Saturday at RU's Mason-Halpin Field House. The Hawks ended the regular season with an 85-79 Senior Day loss to Missouri S&T.

The defeat ended Rockhurst's season just short of qualifying for the 2018 Great Lakes Valley Conference Tournament in Edwardsville, Illinois. The Hawks (10-16, 6-10 GLVC) finished ninth in the GLVC Point Rating System, just behind McKendree.

Missouri S&T rallied from a 17-point deficit in the third period to defeat Rockhurst for the second time this season. The Lady Miners outscored the Hawks 24-13 in the fourth period and ended the game on a 12-6 run to overcome a 74-73 deficit with 2:43 left.

Madeline Ronshausen led the Hawks with 21 points on eight-of-13 field goal shooting. Briahtia Sebek scored 17 points while hitting four-of-six 3-pointers.

Jillian Myers posted 16 points, eight rebounds, six assists and two steals in her final college game. Senior Morgan Harwood tallied eight points and four rebounds. Brittany Meyer also scored eight points.

Ronshausen and Myers combined for 22 points to give the Hawks a 44-33 halftime lead. Rockhurst connected on 53.1 percent of its first-half field goals.

Rockhurst shot 42.2 percent from the field (27 of 64) and 68.2 percent from the foul line (15 of 22). S&T made 23 of 51 shots for a 45.1 percent field goal percentage and 30 of 42 free throws (71.4 percent). Both teams finished with 37 rebounds.
