Both Rockhurst soccer teams were road warriors last weekend, knocking out higher seeds on their home field in the quarterfinals of the GLVC Tournament. The Hawks travel to Jeffersonville, Indiana - right outside of Louisville – for Friday's semifinals.
The men's team enjoyed an offensive breakout in a 3-1 win at top seed Southern Indiana. The Hawks meet Maryville in the semifinals Friday at 1:30 p.m. CST. The Saints are the No. 4 seed and advanced with a win over fifth-seeded Indianapolis. Tied 1-1 after 110 minutes, Maryville edged UIndy in a penalty kick shootout, 5-3.

Gianluca Bottoni is good news for Rockhurst. The senior from Rome, Italy scored two goals at USI on Sunday. Freshman
Jordan Andrews has also brought a spark to the Hawks' offense.
The Hawks and Saints met on Sept. 28 in St. Louis, resulting in a 1-0 Maryville victory.
If Rockhurst advances to the final on Sunday, the championship match kicks of at 11:00 a.m. CST.
The Rockhurst women are in action Friday at 5:00 p.m. CST against No. 3 seed Southern Indiana. The Hawks blanked McKendree, 2-0, on Sunday. Senior midfielder
Mackenzie Moore was heavily involved, collecting a goal and an assist.
USI handled sixth-seeded Maryville 2-0 in the quarterfinals. The Eagles defeated Rockhurst 1-0 in Evansville on Oct. 19.
If the Hawks advance to Sunday, the title game starts at 2:00 p.m. CST.
Volleyball, home this weekend, prepares for stretch run
The Hawks, fresh off their 25th win of the season Tuesday night, return to Mason-Halpin Field House this weekend.
Rockhurst hosts Drury (25-4, 15-2 GLVC) Friday at 7:00 p.m. The Panthers are atop the GLVC and also are the top ranked team in the region. Drury beat Rockhurst in four sets on Oct. 8. A win Friday would greatly help the Hawks' national tournament chances.
The Miners from Missouri S&T (15-13, 7-9 GLVC) come to town Saturday at 3:00 p.m. for the Hawks' final home match of the season.
Women's basketball travels to Oral Roberts
The Hawks continue their Division 1 exhibition tour on Friday 7:00 p.m., taking on the Golden Eagles of Oral Roberts in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Cross Country heads to Kentucky for Conference Championship
The GLVC women's 6K Championship meet takes place Saturday in Louisville, Kentucky at 10:30 a.m.
