Rockhurst faces Greyhounds in Indianapolis

Jillian Myers ranks first in steals and sixth in assists in the GLVC.
The Rockhurst Hawks (15-7, 9-6 GLVC) meet the Indianapolis Greyhounds (14-10, 8-6 GLVC) in a Great Lakes Valley Conference inter-division matchup today at noon in Indianapolis, Indiana.

The Hawks won their last meeting, 78-68, in Kansas City on Feb. 11, 2016. Indianapolis has won seven of the last eight meetings and leads the all-time series, 8-2.

The Hawks are currently in second place in the GLVC West Division with a 9-5 league mark. Senior guard Mary Dineen ranks second in the GLVC and 33rd in the nation in scoring (18.4). Dineen also ranks third in free throw percentage (85.3) and 13th in assists (2.9) in the GLVC. The preseason All-American ranks fourth in career scoring at Rockhurst with 1,666 points.

Junior guard Jillian Myers is first in steals (3.0), sixth in assists (3.5), 13th in blocked shots (1.0) and 21st in rebounding (5.0) in the GLVC. Sophomore forward Marisa Lowe ranks 17th in scoring (12.9), second in 3-point field goals made (2.6) and 12th in 3-point field goal percentage (38.3) in the GLVC. Sophomore center Kaci German has moved into 22nd in rebounding (5.0) in the GLVC. Freshman center Rachel Holden ranks eighth in blocked shots (1.0) in the GLVC

Rockhurst ranks second in 3-point field goals made (7.5), second in 3-point field goal percentage defense (27.7), third in free throw percentage (75.8), fourth in blocked shots (4.4), fourth in scoring offense (72.3), fourth in scoring margin (7.2), fifth in field goal percentage defense (35.3) and fifth in rebounding margin (3.5) in the GLVC.

Mary Dineen scored eight of her game-high 28 points in overtime to carry Rockhurst to a 77-71 victory at Saint Joseph's Thursday night. Dineen made all three of her field goals and sank both of her free throws in overtime. She finished 10-of-18 from the field and seven-of-seven at the foul line. Dineen also collected five rebounds and three assists. The Hawks ended the game on a 10-2 run over the final 2:24. Briahtia Sebek made four free throws in the final minute. The Pumas forced the overtime by hitting a three-pointer at the end of the fourth period. Jillian Myers posted 20 points, nine assists, four steals and three blocked shots.

Rockhurst closes out the regular season at Quincy (Feb. 16), at Truman State (Feb. 18) and at William Jewell (Feb. 23).
