The Rockhurst Hawks, 17-2-2, received their fifth invitation to the NCAA Division II Women's Soccer Tournament Championships. The 48-team bracket was revealed on Monday, Nov. 7 by the NCAA Division II Women's Soccer Committee.
Rockhurst is the fourth seed in the Midwest Regional and will meet No. 5 seed Missouri-St. Louis (12-4-1) on Friday, Nov. 11 at 12:00 p.m. EST (11:00 am CST) at Grand Valley State University in Allendale, Mich.
The Hawks have played Missouri-St. Louis twice this season: winning by identical 1-0 scores at UMSL on Sept. 23 and at the Great Lakes Valley Conference Tournament on Nov. 4 in Indianapolis.
The winner will advance to a second-round matchup on Sunday against the top-seeded Grand Valley State Lakers at 1 p.m. EST (12:00 p.m. CST).
Six teams were selected from each of the eight regions. Teams from the same region will be paired for first- and/or second-round competition, which will be conducted Nov. 10-13 on campus sites. Third-round/quarterfinals will be held on campus sites and completed by Nov. 20. The semifinals and final will be played Dec. 1 and 3 at Children's Mercy Victory Field at Swope Soccer Village in Kansas City, Mo., hosted by Rockhurst University, the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association and Kansas City Sports Commission.
