Hawks end season with 1-0 loss to UMSL in NCAA Tournament

Box Score The Rockhurst Hawks' season came to a crushing end with a 1-0 loss in overtime to Missouri-St. Louis in the first round of the Midwest Regional in the NCAA Division II Women's Soccer Tournament Friday in Allendale, Mich.

UMSL's Miriam Taylor scored the winning goal early in the second overtime period. Taylor scored in the 102nd minute after getting past the Rockhurst defense and kicking the ball to the far right post from 12 yards out. It was the Tritons' first win over the Hawks this season after dropping a pair of 1-0 games to Rockhurst.

Rockhurst finished with 22 shots and seven shots on goal. Brandi Vollmer led the Hawks with six shots. Kaley Nieters added three shots. Ali Wallner collected five saves.

UMSL (13-4-1) advances to face second-ranked Grand Valley State in a second-round game on Sunday in Allendale.
