Hawks shut down Southern Indiana in 4-0 win

Kristin Wolff scored the Hawks' first goal in the seventh minute.

Box Score Rockhurst held Southern Indiana to one shot in rolling to a 4-0 victory over the Screaming Eagles Sunday in Evansville, Indiana.

The win leaves the Hawks tied for second place in the Great Lakes Valley Conference with a 7-1-2 league record.

Kristin Wolff opened the scoring with an eight-yard shot off a cross from Kaley Nieters in the seventh minute. Nieters split two defenders and scored on a breakaway in the 27th minute.

Mia Zanaboni gave the Hawks a 3-0 halftime lead with a six-yard shot off a long pass from Cathy Rometti late in the first half. Mary Koeller wrapped up the scoring with a six-yard shot in the 88th minute with assists from Maddie Dierkes and Nicole Keeve.

Rockhurst finished with 20 shots and 13 shots on goal. Nieters led the Hawks with four shots and three shots on goal. Wolff and Courtney Silberberg each posted three shots.

The Hawks, 10-1-2 overall, return home to host McKendree on Friday, October 14.
