Rockhurst opens at No. 2 in NCAA Midwest Region poll

The Rockhurst Hawks are ranked No. 2 in the first NCAA Division II Women's Soccer Midwest Region poll of 2016. The NCAA Tournament field will be announced on November 7, the day after the GLVC Championship game in Indianapolis.

Rockhurst stands in second place in the GLVC with a 9-1-2 league record. The Hawks moved back into the NSCAA national rankings at No. 16 this week.

Grand Valley State is ranked first in the Midwest Region, followed by Rockhurst, Truman State (third) and Bellarmine (fourth). The bottom half of the regional poll includes Ashland (fifth), Michigan Tech (sixth), Missouri-St. Louis (seventh) and McKendree (eighth).

Rockhurst (12-1-2 overall) hosts Drury Friday night in its final home game of the regular season. The Hawks close out the regular season at Missouri S&T on Sunday, October 23 and at William Jewell on Wednesday, October 26.
