Box Score Missouri-St. Louis stopped five Rockhurst shots on goal in holding on for a 2-1 victory over the Hawks Sunday at Bourke Field.
The loss drops the Hawks to ninth place in the Great Lakes Valley Conference with a 4-4-1 league record.
UMSL led 1-0 at halftime on a goal off a 27-yard direct kick in the 28th minute. The Tritons made it 2-0 in the 64th minute with a seven-yard shot off a deflection.
The Hawks'
Brandi Van Booven scored her first goal of the season in the 70th minute with assists from
Mackenzie Moore and
Jordan Wipke. Van Booven's 10-yard shot just got inside the right post.
Rockhurst outshot the Tritons, 17-13.
Nicole Keeve led the Hawks with five shots. Van Booven added four shots. Senior goalkeeper
Caitlin Winschel made four saves.
The Hawks, 4-4-4 overall, host Indianapolis on Friday.
