Hawks post 3-0 win over Concordia-St. Paul

Taylor Skala scored the game-winning goal in RU's 3-0 win over Concordia-St. Paul.
Box Score Three players scored goals to lead Rockhurst to a 3-0 victory over Concordia-St. Paul in the Peacock Classic Saturday in Fayette, Iowa. The Hawks, 2-0, defeated Upper Iowa 1-0 in their season opener on Friday in the Peacock Classic.0

Taylor Skala opened the scoring with her first goal of the season on a header in the 27th minute, assisted by Julia Bartolacci. Freshman Molly Beelman gave the Hawks a 2-0 lead with a shot from the top of the box with an assist from Brandi Van Booven right before halftime. Van Booven added the third goal in the 69th minute with an assist from Maria Merlo.

Rockhurst outshot St. Paul 9-7. Skala led the Hawks with three shots. Caitlin Winschel collected all three of her saves in the second half. She posted her second shutout in two days.

The Hawks play at Washburn on Tuesday at 6 p.m. and open conference action at Saint Joseph's at 7:30 p.m. Friday.
