Box Score Taylor Skala scored two goals and assisted on a third goal to help rally Rockhurst to a 5-2 victory over Missouri S&T Sunday in Rolla, Mo.
The Hawks overcame a 2-0 deficit to win their 13th game of the season. Rockhurst scored four goals in an eight-minute span late in the first half and early in the second half.
Goals from
Maria Merlo and
Mia Zanaboni tied the score at 2-2 at halftime. Skala scored her first goal of the game 29 seconds into the second half. She added her second goal four minutes later and assisted on
Brandi Van Booven's goal in the 61st minute. Skala now leads the GLVC with 15 goals and 33 points.
The Hawks outshot Missouri S&T, 17-8. Skala, Van Booven and Paige Vailaka led Rockhurst with three shots apiece.
Caitlin Winschel posted two saves.
Rockhurst, 13-2-2 overall, is tied for third place in the GLVC with Truman State with a 10-2-2 conference record. The Hawks will close out the regular season at William Jewell on Wednesday night.
