Box Score Taylor Skala scored two goals to break the school record for career points in a 3-0 victory over Drury Friday night at RU's Bourke Field. Skala became the first player in school history to score 100 career points in breaking Katie Kammerer's school record of 99 points. She now leads the GLVC with 13 goals and 28 points.
Skala scored on a header from six yards out off a corner kick from
Maria Merlo in the 35th minute. Skala added her second goal on another header from five yards out to give the Hawks a 2-0 lead in the 60th minute.
Julia Bartolacci and
Kristin Wolff assisted on the second goal. Merlo found the nets off a corner kick in the 89th minute for her first goal of the season.
The Hawks outshot Drury, 22-4. Skala and Bartolacci led Rockhurst with six shots apiece. Wolff and
Brandi Van Booven each had two shots.
Caitlin Winschel posted her 10th shutout of the season.
Rockhurst (12-2-2 overall) will play at Missouri S&T on Sunday.Â
The Hawks remain tied for third place in the GLVC with Truman State with a 9-2-2 conference record.
