Rockhurst drops road game at Southwest Baptist

Mary Dineen led the Hawks with 13 points at Southwest Baptist.
Box Score Rockhurst suffered its first loss of the season Tuesday night, falling to Southwest Baptist 78-54 in Bolivar, Mo. The Bearcats shot 53.6 percent from the field while holding the Hawks to 35.2 percent shooting.

Southwest Baptist jumped out to a 43-21 halftime lead after hitting 16-of-25 field goals (61.5 percent). Rockhurst was limited to seven-of-27 shooting in the first half.

Freshman Mary Dineen paced the Hawks with 13 points on five-of-11 field goal shooting and five rebounds. Lauren Meyers joined Dineen in double figures with 12 points. Kendall Hart and Becky Squiers also grabbed five rebounds.

The Hawks, 3-1, return home to host Missouri Western at 5:30 p.m. Saturday.
