Hawks post 2-0 win at NCAA Midwest Regional

Katie Kujawa scored both of the Hawks' goals in a 2-0 win over Truman State in the NCAA Midwest Regional.
Box Score Senior midfielder Katie Kujawa scored two goals to lead the Rockhurst women's soccer team to a 2-0 victory over Truman State in the first round of the NCAA Midwest Regional Friday night in Allendale, Mich.

The fifth-seeded Hawks, 13-5-3, will meet top-seeded Grand Valley State at noon Sunday in a second-round game in Allendale. Grand Valley State is ranked No. 1 in the nation with a 19-0-1 record.

Kujawa scored her first goal in the 43rd minute on a shot in front of the goal set up by a corner kick. Kujawa added an insurance goal—her seventh of the season —with a 35-yard shot over the keeper in the 80th minute.

Truman outshot Rockhurst 16-11. Kujawa led the Hawks with three shots. Kinsley Fitzpatrick, Brandi Van Booven and Kristin Wolff each posted an assist. Freshman keeper Ali Wallner collected eight saves.
