The Rockhurst Hawks, 12-5-3, received their fourth invitation to the NCAA Division II Women's Soccer Championships. Fifth-seeded Rockhurst will meet the fourth-seeded Truman State Bulldogs, 12-4-4, on Friday, Nov. 15, at 6 p.m. in the Midwest Regional at the GVSU Soccer Field in Allendale, Mich.

TRUMAN STATE: The Bulldogs defeated the Hawks, 1-0, earlier this season in Kirksville, Mo. Truman State leads the all-time series, 9-1. Rockhurst's only win over Truman occurred in the 1997 season. The winner will advance to a second-round matchup on Sunday against the top-seeded Grand Valley State Lakers.
 
GLVC TOURNAMENT: Rockhurst's hopes of reaching the championship game in the Great Lakes Valley Conference Women's Soccer Tournament fell short on Nov. 8 in Quincy, Ill. Top-seeded Quincy scored in the 78th minute to edge the Hawks, 1-0, in the semifinals of the GLVC Tournament. Quincy went on to defeat Wisconsin-Parkside, 2-1, in the GLVC Championship. The Hawks opened the GLVC Tournament with a 2-0 win over Bellarmine at Rockhurst on Nov. 3.
 
POSTSEASON HONORS: Rockhurst placed three players on the 2013 All-GLVC Women's Soccer Teams. Kasey Lierz earned a spot on the All-GLVC First Team. Lierz, a junior defender, has scored eight points on one goal and six assists. She was named to the All-GLVC Second Team last year. Junior forward Taylor Skala and senior midfielder Katie Kujawa were selected to the All-GLVC Second Team. Skala earned All-GLVC honors for the third year in a row. She leads the Hawks with seven goals and 18 points. Kujawa, a second team honoree last year, has scored five goals and 11 points.
 
COACH GREG HERDLICK: Coach Herdlick has guided the Rockhurst women's soccer program for the past 15 seasons. The Hawks have posted 13 winning seasons under Herdlick, who has an overall record of 155-98-22. He entered the 2013 season as the 39th winningest coach in NCAA Division II. Herdlick has guided the Hawks to 72 conference wins and nine GLVC Tournament appearances in their first nine seasons in the GLVC. The Hawks advanced to the NCAA Tournament for the first time in school history in 2008 and returned again in 2011 and 2012.
