Hawks edge Maryville behind goals from Wolff

Kristin Wolff scored two goals to lead Rockhurst to a 2-1 win over Maryville.
Box Score Freshman midfielder Kristin Wolff scored two goals to lead the Rockhurst women's soccer team a 2-1 victory over Maryville on Friday at RU's Bourke Field.

Wolff gave the Hawks a 1-0 lead in the 19th minute when her shot deflected off the keeper into the back left of the net. Katie Kujawa assisted on the goal. Wolff broke a 1-1 tie with a goal from 12 yards out in the 76th minute with an assist from Caroline Brandt.

Rockhurst outshot the Saints 19-9. Maria Merlo led Rockhurst with five shots. Wollf collected three shots. Jessica Cook, Jessica Bayens and Kinsley Fitzpatrick each collected two shots. Sophomore keeper Caitlin Winschel posted two saves.

The Hawks, 7-2-2 and 5-2-2 in the GLVC, host Missouri-St. Louis on Sunday, Oct. 13.
