Sydney led the Hawks to a doubleheader sweep over Newman on March 20. She was the winning pitcher in the first game, won by  Rockhurst 9-3. She threw the first four innings, allowing two runs on three hits. Sydney back came in the second game to post her first save of the season in a 6-4 win over Newman. She held the Jets to one hit over the final two innings. Sydney leads the Hawks witha 7-2 record and 1.66 ERA.
