McCloskey was Rockhurst’s first NAIA All-American (third team) in basketball in his senior year in 1956. He led the Hawks to the 1956 NAIA national tournament, scoring a team-high 468 points and handing out 156 assists. He finished his career with 1,242 points. McCloskey also lettered one year in baseball as a pitcher in 1954.
