Women honored with ITA All-Academic Team Award

The Rockhurst women's tennis team is one of 11 GLVC teams to earn the ITA All-Academic Team Award.

The Rockhurst University women's tennis team is one of 11 Great Lakes Valley Conference teams to earn the ITA All-Academic Team Award, which is open to any ITA program that has a cumulative team grade point average of 3.20 or above. All eligible student-athletes whose names appear on the NCAA eligibility form and have competed in one or more varsity match must average into the GPA for the current academic year.

In order to earn ITA Scholar-Athlete status a player must meet the following criteria: be a varsity letter winner, have a grade point average of at least 3.50 (on a 4.00 scale) for the current academic year, and have been enrolled at their present school for at least two semesters.

Six members of the Rockhurst women's tennis team earned the right to be called ITA Scholar-Athletes: Paula Romero, Sam Czarnecki, Kate Merrick, Sara Flaxbeard, Mary Grace Harris and Andrea Dabbah.
