Hawks rank 14th in the nation with a 3.707 team GPA

Rockhurst has finished in the Top 25 Team GPA national rankings 18 times since 1997-98.
The Rockhurst University women's basketball team finished with the 14th highest grade point average (3.707) among NCAA Division II schools in 2019-20, according to the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) Academic Team Honor Rolls released on Aug. 11.

This marks the 18th time overall that the Hawks have finished in the Top 25 academically since 1997-98. Rockhurst was one of three Great Lakes Valley Conference schools in the Division II Top 25. The Hawks had 20 members named to the Academic All-GLVC team.

The WBCA Academic Top 25 recognizes NCAA Division I, II and III, NAIA and two-year GPAs inclusive of all student-athletes on their rosters for the entire season. The 2019-20 season is the 25th in which the WBCA has compiled the honor rolls.

"The WBCA applauds these head coaches and their teams for their commitment to academic excellence," said WBCA Executive Director Danielle Donehew. "We appreciate and value the hard work and dedication the players and coaches have put forth to thrive in the classroom and on the basketball court."
