The Rockhurst University men's basketball team has earned the National Association of Basketball Coaches' Team Academic Excellence Award for the eighth year in a row. Created by the NABC Committee on Academics in 2012-13, the award recognizes outstanding academic achievement by a team with a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better for the 2019-20 season.

The Hawks are one of only four Great Lakes Valley Conference schools to receive the NABC Team Academic Excellence Award.

Senior guard Walt Eckelkamp, junior center Quinton Curry, junior guard Curtis Lewis, junior guard Charlton Offermans and junior forward Nick Volz were named to the NABC Honors Court, recognizing those collegiate basketball student-athletes who excelled in academics during the 2019-20 season.

To earn a Honors Court distinction, student-athletes must be academically a junior or senior and a varsity player, have maintained a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher at the conclusion of the 2019-20 academic year and have matriculated at least one year at their current institution.
