Box Score Seth Soto hit a three-run walk-off home run to power Rockhurst to a 7-6 victory over 18th-ranked Quincy in the Great Lakes Valley Conference Championship Tournament Saturday at Grand Park in Westfield, Indiana.
The win vaults the Hawks (30-22) into Sunday's championship game and will face either William Jewell or Indianapolis.
Soto powered a 3-2 pitch off Quincy closer Teddy Rule over the left-field fence for his fifth home run of the season with one out in the bottom of the ninth.
David Stober singled to open the ninth and advanced to second on a fielder's choice by
Joey Mancuso to set up Soto's blast.
Quincy scored two runs in the eighth to take a 6-4 lead. Soto had given Rockhurst a 3-2 lead in the fifth with a run-scoring single and he tied the score at 4-4 with an RBI single in the seventh.
Soto led the Hawks with four hits and five RBIs. Stober, Mancuso and
Wylson Lamb each posted two hits.Â
Henry Weiler (8-4) allowed six earned runs on 14 hits in 9.0 innings with four walks and two strikeouts.
