Box Score Brett Marr went 5-for-5 and scored three runs to lead Rockhurst to a 15-7 victory over Missouri S&T in the Great Lakes Valley Conference Championship Tournament Friday at Grand Park in Westfield, Indiana.
The Hawks (29-22) advance in the winner's bracket and will await the winner of the Quincy-Bellarmine game on Saturday at 2 p.m. Central time.
Rockhurst scored multiple runs in five innings. The Hawks scored two runs in the first and third, and added four runs in the fourth to take an 8-3 lead. Rockhurst tallied three runs in the fifth and added four runs in the eighth.
David Stober and
Henry Weiler each collected three hits. Weiler drove in four runs behind a pair of two-run singles. Stober drove in two of his three runs with a double in the eighth.
Seth Soto and
Wylson Lamb both posted two hits. Soto, Marr and
Joey Mancuso each drove in two runs.
Andrew Ellwanger (2-1) allowed six runs on 13 hits over 7.1 innings.
Alex Merithew got the last four outs to pick up his second save of the season.
