The Rockhurst women suffered a 5-4 loss to the Lewis Flyers in the semifinals of the Great Lakes Valley Conference Championship Tournament Saturday in Romeoville, Illinois.
 
Lewis clinched the victory with a victory in No. 4 singles. The Flyers rallied from a 2-1 deficit after doubles to win four of the six singles matches. Tamara Santos (No. 5) and Octavia Malin (No. 6) won in singles for the Hawks.
 
Malin and Janine Koleta captured No. 2 doubles by an 8-2 score, while Kim Vrugteveen and Justine Berezintsev won No. 3 doubles 8-2.
 
Rockhurst, 13-6, will await the announcement of the NCAA Division II Women's Tennis Championship field early next week. The Hawks were ranked seventh in this week's regional poll.
