Hawks fall to McKendree in GLVC semifinals

Alyssa Woodman led the Hawks with 15 kills.

Box Score Rockhurst suffered a 3-0 loss to McKendree in the semifinals of the Great Lakes Valley Conference Tournament Saturday night in East Peoria, Ill.

The 21st-ranked Hawks lost the first two sets by 25-23 scores before dropping the third set, 25-17. Rockhurst posted a .226 hitting percentage, while McKendree hit .331.

Alyssa Woodman led the Hawks (27-6) with 15 kills. Morgan Rietzke posted 11 kills and 10 digs. Mattie Gray added seven kills.

Kalie Arnold collected a team-high 12 digs. Anne Hellwege finished with 10 digs. Lily Thornberg tallied 19 assists and 11 digs. Grace Carter totaled 15 assists.

The Hawks will await the announcement of the NCAA Championship Tournament bracket on Monday, Nov. 21. Rockhurst was seeded fourth in last week's Midwest Region poll.
