Hawks win GLVC tourney opener over Quincy

Courtney Silberberg led the Hawks with 10 shots and five shots on goal.
Box Score Rockhurst pounded out 35 shots in cruising to a 2-0 victory over Quincy in a first-round quarterfinal game in the 2016 Great Lakes Valley Conference Championship Tournament Sunday at Bourke Field.

The second-seeded Hawks (16-1-2) will face third-seeded Missouri-St. Louis in the semifinals of the GLVC Tournament at 11 a.m. (Central time) Friday (November 4) at the Michael A. Carroll Track and Soccer Stadium in Indianapolis.

Kaley Nieters opened the scoring on a 16-yard shot in the 58th minute. Kristin Wolff and Courtney Silberberg assisted on Nieters' eighth goal of the season. Wolff came back four minutes later to find the nets from four yards out for her seventh goal of the season. Nieters and Meghan Kilkenny set up the goal.

Rockhurst finished with 16 shots on goal. Silberberg led the 16th-ranked Hawks with 10 shots and five shots on goal. Kilkenny posted seven shots and two shots on goal. Wolff and Mia Zanaboni added four shots apiece. Ali Wallner collected three saves for her ninth shutout of the season.
