Mark Magee celebrates after scoring a goal
Kansas City, Mo. - Mark Magee has always enjoyed being the "go-to" guy on his team. It didn't change when he signed a professional contract to play striker for the UMF Tindastóll in the Icelandic 1st Division. UMF Tindastóll is based in the city of Sauðárkrókur. It is one of the most northern settlements in the country. It only took two games for the Englishman to settle in and become the playmaker of the team. Magee scored his first goal in the second game he started.

While playing with UMF Tindastóll, Magee found the back of the net five times, playing 1142 minutes. His performance with and without the ball caught the attention of many other teams. After only 12 games with UMF Tindastóll, Magee was transferred and signed to Fjolnir, a Pepsi Premier League club. Fjolnir is located in Iceland's Capital Reykjavik, located on the southeastern coastline.

Magee was put in the starting lineup as soon as he arrived. Through eight games, he managed to score one goal while compiling 498 minutes played. With a solid performance week after week, Magee helped prevent the team from being relegated to the lower division. His performance has already garnered a new contract offer by Fjolnir for the upcoming season.

Magee has yet to make a decision on whether he will re-sign with the team. He stated, "What's next is a mystery, I'm going to take a short period of time off, go and visit some friends in America. Yes, Fjolnir has asked me to stay and play here next season, but I'm not under any pressure to make a decision just yet."

While at Rockhurst University, Magee received three All-American honors and was voted the Daktronics Inc. Midwest Region Player of the Year three years in a row. Magee ranked among the NCAA Division II national leader in goals (15) and points (36) during his senior year in 2013. Throughout his career at Rockhurst, he amassed 51 goals and 131 points in 77 games played.
